Air traffic controllers for take off and landing – a well-established process worldwide. The rapidly progressing digitalisation, however, will revolutionise conventional air traffic control – with Sweden leading the way. In the so-called Remote Tower Centre, air traffic is monitored, coordinated and clearances issued simultaneously at different airfields in real time. Digital towers in the form of slim camera installations at the individual airports provide the required data.
