We are delighted to welcome Kara to Sweden as the new General Manager for Roche in Sweden.
Hej! I am very excited to be joining Roche Pharmaceuticals in Sweden following the role as the General Manager for Roche in the Philippines. Prior to this, I was leading a strategy team in our Global organization in Switzerland and previously held several commercial roles spanning our portfolio in the US. Before joining the biopharma industry, I was a consultant for several government agencies. I am joined in this life adventure by my husband, daughter, son, and our playful Rhodesian Ridgeback dog. We are really enjoying the access to nature around Stockholm and the very warm welcome we have received (despite the cold weather) upon our arrival in Sweden last month.
As with many others, Roche has experienced that the covid pandemic has changed our “normal” and given us valuable lessons to take forward into the future. We have seen how critical multi-stakeholder collaboration is when addressing large, complex, societal issues like the pandemic response, and we have had to adapt quickly given the fast acceleration of trends such as digitization of health care. I am proud of the role Roche and the life science industry has played in addressing the needs of society at such a time, and I think we can apply these learnings to other equally complex and critical challenges for health care, such as the implementation of precision medicine. I look forward to using our learnings, capabilities, and expertise at Roche to contribute to Sweden’s high ambition to be a world leader in life sciences in the coming years ahead.
